DO YOU PROVIDE MEALS?

I offer homemade cooked and cold lunch options for £1.25. I operate a "no food waste" ethos within the setting and my home so the menu is varied and seasonal.

Where I can, I involve the children in purchasing, choosing and preparing the meals and snacks that we eat. Understanding where food comes from and eating what you've helped create are great learning opportunities.

You are more then welcome to provide a packed lunch. Snacks and drinks are included in the hourly childcare fee.

CAN MY CHILD NAP WITH YOU?

I will endeavour to provide an environment that suits the needs of your child. Older children tend to sleep on sleep mats in the living room, with their own fleece or cotton blanket whilst younger children tend to nap in the buggy in the hall or whilst we are out and about.

I have introduced a Chamomile Plant to aid with sleep & well-being as we rest. I also use an Essential Oil Diffuser if needed.

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?

Each child is required to bring

  • a change of clothes inc. socks

  • pair of wellies or suitable outdoor shoes

  • outdoor suit* and coat.

These items are a setting requirement, preferably to stay within the setting for the week to allow me to provide continuous provision when we move to outdoor environments.

*Puddle suits are fine for later in the year but late Autumn & Winter these aren't sufficient to keep your child both warm and dry.

DO I PAY IF WE ARE ON HOLIDAY?

You are able to take 4 weeks annual leave charged at half fee (year runs from Jan -Dec) I am entitled to 4 weeks annual leave for which I do not charge but will give 4 weeks notice.

WHAT IF I NEED ANOTHER DAY OR EXTRA HOURS?

I may be able to help you should a situation arise where by you would require additional hours or day change. This however is subject to what is required, the notice period and the child ratio for that day.

Should you find this is needed on a regular basis then we would discuss any changes and see if I can accommodate you.

DO YOU HAVE ANY REFERENCES?

I ask parents both past and present to leave me a review on social media, Childcare.co.uk and via regular parent questionnaires. Please click on the link to see some testimonials

WHAT IS THE EYFS?

DO YOU ACCEPT FUNDED PLACES?

I am eligible to accept both Free for 2s Entitlement and Universal Free Childcare 15 hours. I am registered to accept Childcare Tax Credits and willing to sign up for work-based Schemes as well.

*please note that with funded places for 3&4 year olds places, I ask for a top-up contribution as current payment from the local Government is not in line with current hourly charge.

OUR TESTIMONIALS

From  past and presnt parents

My son has being to Rayray from eight months old until almost 3 when he started nursery.
I can not speak highly enough of Rachel. My son has undertaken countless activities and she has worked at his level to ensure he has met all his child development levels.
Rachel has provided endless activities, she has taught him makaton , cooking, painting, worked towards Hey Duggie badges. She has taken him on trips including trips to the library and to the beach, to name a few.
She is kind, caring and my son has loved every minute of his time there.
I would not hesitate to recommend Rachel to anyone who is looking for a childminder.
We can not thank her enough for all she has done for our son in his time there.

My daughter joined the setting just before her first birthday and stayed for the school year. I was concerned with my daughter going to nursery as she was 3 months premature and so we wanted more of a home setting for her where she would get more quality time and care. I couldn't fault Rachel one bit, she loves and cares for the mindees as if they are there own, my daughter loved being there and didn't cry once when leaving her! I found my daughters development went from strength to strength and I owe this to all of the activities that Rachel plans. I would recommend without a doubt and would want any subsequent children we have to join the setting.

Going back to work was difficult for me so wanted to know that my little girl would be in the best hands. Rachael is the best childminder and the only person I would want to look after my little girl. She is absolutely amazing with Ivy and I'll be sad when she has to leave. Rachel plans every day with a theme, caters for each individual child's needs and even gives take home bags each week of things they have enjoyed specifically. If anyone was looking for a childminder, I wouldn't hesitate to send them to Rachael.

I’d whole heartedly recommend Rachel & the wonderful setting she’s created in her home. Our little boy adores her, it’s noticeable on arrival as he skips off to play. His vocabulary & general development has come on tremendously of late, aided in no small part by Rachel. Even down to taking a very active interest in his health & wellness in experimenting with various different foods in an attempt to get him eating more, it’s all hugely appreciated!
